Overview
Zumba is a fitness class that combines aerobic exercise with dance. It can be taught by a professional dancer or instructor, but recently it has also been adapted for home use.
The Zumba fitness program is a dance-based exercise class that incorporates Latin music and international styles.Zumba classes are based on teaching a series of dance steps that anyone can learn in a short time frame. These steps range from easy to more difficult so as the class progresses, dancers will find themselves challenged but not overwhelmed.
The Zumba program consists of aerobic intervals set to energetic music with a mix of hip-hop, soca, samba and mambo styles. It also includes some basic elements of jazz, tap dance, African and bollywood dancing.
