Coaching is the act of working with someone to help them achieve a better quality of life. A coach is there to support someone in their journey, and they do this by listening, guiding, and questioning.

We can categorize coaches into two types: developmental and performance coaches. A developmental coach seeks to help people reach their full potential and overcome obstacles that are preventing them from reaching it. A performance coach works with high-level athletes or executives who want to be coached on how to improve their skills.

The word “coach” comes from the Dutch word “koetsier” which means “driver” or “conductor.”

WHY COACHING ?

Coaching is an empowering process which aims at enabling a person to access their own resources and be the best versions of themselves

The environment is ever changing and increasingly becoming more and more complex, coaching works as a powerful tool to empower current leaders and build future leaders to take themselves and their businesses to newer heights

BENEFITS OF COACHING

Improved self - esteem and confidence

By coaching, confidence will improve your chances of winning in life. Many people have low self-esteem and confidence and if you don’t believe in yourself, then nobody else will.

Coaches can help us build the self-esteem we need to make our dreams into reality. There are many ways that they can do this, from motivational speeches to giving us new perspectives on our lives.

Deeper connection with own strengths and core self

Coaching helps people to understand what they are doing and how they can improve.

Coaching is more than a technique that you can use to make yourself better. It also means an opportunity to explore your own values and beliefs as well as those of your peers. Coaches help people connect with their emotions, feelings, and motivations in order to improve their own lives.

Improved relationships

Some might argue that coaching is a waste of time and money. But the opposite is true. With coaching, people are able to have better relationships with their loved ones because they are able to understand them in a new way.

Coaching has many benefits, it improves relationships with loved ones, at work and in personal life; it allows people to find more meaning in their lives; it helps people overcome challenges and problems; and it also increases self-confidence.

Improved quality of life

It’s no secret that when people are happy and fulfilled in their life, they do better. They have more energy to take on new challenges, be more productive at work, and they live longer lives.

Coaching is a form of one-on-one mentoring that can improve the quality of life for many people. It helps them to identify areas of their life where they could work on improving themselves and providing them with the tools needed to make those changes happen.

Enhanced work performance

Coaching is a one-on-one conversation between an expert and someone who needs to improve their work performance. The expert gives guidance, feedback, and advice to the individual so that they can achieve their goals.

Workers who have coaching sessions are more likely to have better work performance, higher engagement and less absenteeism.

Improved competence

Coaching is a developmental process of assisting employees to improve their performance by providing them with feedback on their behavior. It is also a way for employees to increase their self-awareness so they can better understand their strengths and weaknesses.

Coaching may involve providing feedback to the coaching recipient, with the intent that this feedback will produce a change in behavior and, ultimately, improved performance by the recipient.

Improved managerial effectiveness

By working with a coach, employees are able to gain understanding of their strengths and weaknesses while improving their skillsets.

Coaches provide feedback on how an employee can improve themselves by implementing knowledge from outside sources or by bringing new perspectives on the current topic at hand. A lot of managers will hire a coach for an employee if they notice that they have specific problems with certain areas such as leadership, interpersonal skills, time management, etc.

Studies have shown that coaching benefits managers in many ways – it allows them to be more

Improved team effectiveness

Coaching is the best way to improve team effectiveness. It forces employees to think about their behaviour and challenges them to take responsibility for their work.

Coaching can help people become better at their job, build trust among team members, improve productivity by reducing time spent on conflict resolution, and make it easier for employees with diverse backgrounds or cultures to work

Improved job satisfaction

Coach can help you with your work life balance by achieving your goals and reaching your potential.

Coach can be a mentor, a counselor, or a friend. Their support will help you set the right goals and stay motivated during the process of achieving them. You will learn how to become more confident in yourself, to face challenges with positivity and to live the life that you really want!

This is why coaching programs are implemented in the workplace to make employees happier and boost their job satisfaction.

ONE ON ONE COACHING

One-to-one coaching is a consulting process in which a trained professional, the coach, provides guidance and support to clients through direct communication.

One-to-one coaching is an important tool for business development. It’s also an effective way to help employees improve their skills and fulfill their potential. And if you want to grow your company’s culture or team spirit, one-to-one coaching is a great way to do that as well.

The benefits of one to one coaching are many – here are some of the most important ones:

  • Business Development
  • Employee Development
  • Company Culture Growth

TEAM COACHING

Team Coaching is a very powerful tool for teams to enhance their productivity, team dynamics, individual capacities and impact on the organization. Team coaching creates high performing teams. The team along with the team leader participates in the coaching journey focused on team goals, team needs with a strong level of alignment to the organizational vision and strategy, and how the team is working towards it. It increases team maturity, enhances professional development, performance using the power of collective intelligence and capacity. It fosters a culture of ongoing learning, peer consultation, collaboration and optimizes goal accomplishment and positively impacts the bottom line.

GROUP COACHING

One on one coaching is the most popular form of coaching. Group coaching extends this benefit to a number of people at the same time. It creates an impact in a larger group. Group coaching offers a safe space for each member to expand their self-awareness and explore what best serves them. They are able to make commitments in order to move forward towards their goals and aspirations.

Group coaching works on using a common theme and is aligned to the group’s purpose for being coached. Each member of the coaching group gains insights into their own process, as well as be inspired by others in the group.

The process of group coaching is about mutual talent and insights and has tremendous potential to enable a group of individuals achieve their goals. The members of the group can be from any team or organization – they just should want to work on the same theme as the group coaching session. It can also help to break the silo mentality in employees.

DEVELOPING MANAGERS AS COACH

Coaching as a culture in the organization can happen only when the Managers build their capacity to be coaches. Our learning journey on developing “Manager as a Coach” aims to develop capacities in middle to senior managers to coach their teams in order to create greater accountability and enhanced performance. Research shows that coaching leads to stronger engagement, higher productivity, higher morale, improved customer service, better employee performance, greater accountability and builds confidence in the team members. It also enables a manager to become a more effective leader.

HEAL-THY WELL-THY
