The Communication Style Inventory is a self-assessment that can be used to understand the communication styles of others and match them with your own.

This assessment is meant to help you learn about your communication style, as well as the communication styles of other people. The tool presents a series of statements that have been categorized into three groups: verbal, abstract, and nonverbal. Statements are categorized by type and grouped together so they are easier to compare.

When you have completed the inventory, you can review what is behind each statement and which set it belongs in. This will help you understand how another person communicates when they speak or write, how to communicate with them more effectively, and which behaviors make them feel uncomfortable.
